The functional and aesthetic redevelopment of Café Ambrosiano in Como was carried out in the heart of the city’s historic center, specifically in Piazza Cavour, where it enjoys breathtaking views of the lake — a view that can be appreciated from within the café itself.
We redesigned the internal layout to not only increase the number of seating but also to improve the overall flow of the space, ensuring a more efficient and comfortable experience for both customers and staff. This thoughtful reorganization allows the café to accommodate more guests while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
From an aesthetic perspective, the café underwent a transformation into a more modern environment, with a distinct international flair, aligning with the dynamic and contemporary spirit of Como, without losing the traditional and noble aspects that have long been associated with Café Ambrosiano.
One of the key design elements that we incorporated was the use of light fixtures as both a visual cue and a hallmark of elegance. The lighting was carefully chosen to add a distinctive touch of sophistication while enhancing the overall ambiance of the space, making it not just a place to enjoy a drink, but a space to experience and savor.
